Founder/Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Julia Schubert is the founder of Wholistic Counseling, PC and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience providing individual, couples and group therapy. Her professional career started in the nutrition field as a Dietetic Technician, with aspirations to become a Dietitian. On her journey, she was grateful to find her true passion was supporting others with mental health issues and made the decision to enter the field of social work instead. She has found that supporting people wherever they are in their life and watching positive changes, big and small, is incredibly rewarding and fulfilling.

Her knowledge in nutrition/lifestyle choices and interest in how it effects mental health has created the vision for Wholistic Counseling, PC. The understanding of the interconnectedness of physical and mental health and the impact on the whole person is essential to the success of clients in treatment.

Julia has treated adolescents and adults of varying ages in a variety of mental health and substance use disorder clinics. She also spent many years providing care to Veterans and their families at the Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Julia has trained through the Beck Institute in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for anxiety, depression, personality disorders and has received extensive training in other modalities including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, the Gottman Method, motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care.

Julia and her team highly value creating a compassionate and safe emotional environment for clients to grow and thrive. They recognize the courage it takes to engage in therapy and appreciate the opportunity to go on the journey with their clients.
